The health resort of Żegiestów with its 160 year old history is one of the oldest health resorts in Poland. It’s situated among the beautiful mountains of the Beskid Sądecki in the valley of the gorgeous and clean Poprad river, which in this region marks the border with Slovakia. The spa is surrounded by the lush and picturesque forests of Poprad Scenic Park.

The resort part of Żegiestów is located in the southern part of the town in two settlements -  Zdrój and Łopata Polska. It’s  1.5 km away from the residential area. In the spa area there are only handful of residences with approximately 60 people.

Due to issues concerning the ownership of the resort’s properties, the centre of the spa is currently closed. Presently operating is the spa sanatorium Wiktor in the settlement Łopata Polska as well as three guest houses. Additionally, outside of the central district A there are an additional 300 beds out of a possible 900, all in guest houses and agrotourism accommodations.
